Amelia Earhart

My daughter had a biography report/project she was supposed to do.
They made the doll body out of newspaper at school
and then brought it home and had to make it look like their person by dressing it!?!
Like my 9 year old knows how to sew clothes?
I don't even know how (wish I did).
Like how I said "she was supposed to do it?" {wink}
 Yes, she designed the clothing,
drew the face and helped stitch the two pieces of felt together... but her ol'
Mama learned a couple things about herself during this project:

#1 I enjoy crafting and should really do it a little more often so I don't take over
on projects!
#2 Geeze Louise, let you kids do their own work (no matter how it turns out- at least it will be age appropriate) !!! Stop trying to make it perfect! (Elsa told me that some kids printed clothing pictures from online and then taped em on, or one used Barbie clothes... creative I suppose)

Anyways, we both had a lot of fun working on it.
I present to you Ms. Amelia Earhart,
who, by the way, has a fascinating story

Super cute/simple! aviator cap pattern available here. I think I wanna make one for me! :D

This "Take Flight, 70's Crewel Embroidery" picture is available here!
Time to do my own school work now- hehe!

Have you ever taken over one of our kids school projects?
Do tell...

Oh my gosh, so darn cute!! I love her outfit, and that she is Amelia Earhart to begin with. You should do a whole series. How cute would that be!?

No way...that turned out so cute.

I bet that experience of making it with you will be something your daughter remembers forever!

Good job.
My daughter has a report that is due next month on puffins...I'm sure I will be helping her just a little. wink

Ha! She's gorgeous! I like all of it, and i'm not surprised you tried to take over. Also thank you heaps for getting back in touch with me about studying while having kids. What you wrote was really encouraging. A month and a bit and I'm going to be there!
xx

Nice work mama! I love it. I have yet to take over a school project, but that's only because real school doesn't start for Clover until the fall (kindergarten!) but I'm sure it will happen ;)
