Crafty books I'd love to own :D

I had to go to Michaels craft store a while back and ended up wandering aimlessly, fantasizing about all the wonderful things I could create... but who am I trying to fool? I know they'd come home with me and end up in that pile of "to do's"
Anywho- for any of you looking for some cute projects... might I suggest these?
I'd love a copy of either or both :D
Many of you know this crafty homespun gal as Soule Mama... She blogs here

Is it just me or is everyone becoming fantastic photographers???
(I'm sure Soule Mama's got a pro for shooting a book!)
I have a feeling that Etsy is paving the road to successful photos! They've got so many good
suggestions on making things look desirable! It really does play a huge role in selecting goods!
Back to books...

One Yard Wonders will get you going in the creative department with minimal fabric.
I'm quite interested in the picture below seeing how I've stockpiled many vintage pillowcases :D

I've got a couple of little girls who'd enjoy throwing one of these on for summer :D

I wish I had pictures to share with you from Anne's Baby shower but my chord from camera to computer is still missing. I gotta fix this soon!!!! Jessica and I threw it for her but we used Anne's camera, and since she's expecting that sweet lil' pea pod any day now... I'm sure she's not worried about photos at the moment! ;)
I made her a bib from this material, cause she loves mushrooms, and used a muted pink bias tape around the edges. Pictures to follow soon :D Hopefully with her little one wearing it!
Time to relax before tomorrows whirlwind :D
G'night!

Easter Weekend

How was your Easter???
It crept up so quickly that I didn't even get a chance to blow eggs out for decorating til the day before. (They're still sitting in our kitchen, waiting patiently to be decorated).
It's a tradition (started by my "Jewish" stepmom, Stacy- hehe) to hollow out the eggs so we could decorate them with markers/paint. I still do it every year :D
(We also grew up celebrating Christmas and Hanukkah!)
I typically grab any kitchen utensil to get the job done. I used the corn poker for poke the initial holes in the top and bottom of the egg. The long silver tool (for getting nuts outta their shells) to make the bottom hole bigger, and the yarn needle to break up the egg innards! Hold the egg over a bowl and blow on the top hole til it empties out.
Scrambled eggs for breakfast :D

My girls wore these ridiculously cute vintage gingham Easter dresses!
They were quite cute in these!

Our family worked at Mimi and Baba's 2+ acre house/yard for the entire weekend! It's quite jungly up there, which is cool but can get overgrown quite easily.
Here are some shots from the weekend- we managed to have some fun while we were at it.
My brother and I always dork out to some extent- good fun!!!

Mimi and Baba own a bunch of properties and rent them out.
They've always done all the work on their own which has led to this big pile of
goodies that they keep in case they need to use them for another rental...
Makes sense until there's so much that you don't know where any of it it...
in comes family to help sort :D

Cool avocado tree that has a branch growing on the ground

There's something to say for a "days work" where you are physically moving all day-
I slept more soundly than ever!
Not quite like Easter this year or this one either, but different and great!
What was your weekend like? Do tell... :D
xoxo,
Nicky

Happy Anniversary Mimi and Baba!!!!
My grandparents met in San Francisco, Baba was in the Coast Guard and
Mimi was working in the area and volunteering at the USO.
They met, danced, dated... and love grew!
They had two boys and my Mama.

Baba is looking quite handsome here and
look at how fabulous Mimi's outfit is (that little hat???!!!)
That's my great grandmother in the middle :D

They are strong Christians who have put their faith, lives, and hope in Christ and
have passed down that faith to their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren!
For that, I am eternally grateful!!!!
They are world travelers and advernturers!
Lovers of fun and family.

My Mom, me, brother, and Mimi at their desert condo in about 85?
Probably hitting up the Indio Fair/Date Festival :D

My brother, cousin Chris, me, and cousin Markus getting ready to go out trick-or-treating!!!

Grandkids hanging out at Mimi and Baba's house (I'm in the yellow, my brother is in front of me)

Remember this?

At 89 years old... Baba's still working on their property rentals all the time...

...with Mimi by his side! This keeps them young, I am sure of it!

Goofin' with Baba in the car

That's my Mama and Elsa. We went out for a stroll at the Grove in LA

Here we are packed into my little truck to go grab lunch while cleaning up one of their properties!
I'm so blessed to have them in my life and so happy that my children have grown up with them too! They are a fantastic example to me and I love them dearly! Happy Anniversary you love birds!
XOXOXO!!!

God's lil' gift to wee ones

ROLY POLY'S!!!
The raddest little bugs ever.
Caterpillar lookin' bugs one minute,
and perfectly spherically shaped fella's the next!

"The pill bug is the only crustacean that can spend its entire life on land. Their shells look like armor and they are known for their ability to roll into a ball. Sometimes children call them rollie-pollies. Most pill bugs live for up to two years. They are most active at night."

One of the many little wonders around our yard! :D

What's cookin'?

actually nothing... but thanks for asking! ;)
Cause seriously??? Who needs to cook when you have a wedge of Manchego cheese in your fridge?
I kinda want a whole wheel of it for my birthday
(it's June 17th just in case you run into a wheel of Manchego around that time!)
I'm sure my fingers were tight the next day after a meal of cheese and olives- and a splash of red wine
but sometimes you just gotta live dangerously- ha. ha. ha.

Also in the kitchen:

remember when they wore dresses all the time???
I'm sure my hubby would dig it if I wore this get up to prepare supper! ha

gingham is fantastic!

check out this rare apron! It's got hot pads attached!
the first apron is available in my shop now....
the others are soon to come!
XO
and Happy Sunday-
off to church we go :D
