Sweet Citrus

I walked past this sweet smelling little orange tree in our garden recently and caught the best citrusy smell!!! Thought I'd sit down for a sec and share the outfit I enjoyed wearing that day :)

He's really a bit of a Charlie Brown tree, but does make some sweet fruit.

Shirt: Old Navy
Pants: Anthropologie
Shoes: Target
Citrus Smell: Priceless- hahahaah

Dear Santa...

...Since you're going to be stopping by to visit my little ones, do you think you could drop off some goodies for me too? Here are some pictures so you can shop a little easier in Anthropologie. Thanks Santa, you're the best!

Merry Christmas Eve!!!

Estate Sale Goodness

I snagged this cute little green sweater from an estate sale the other day. It appears to be handmade! I love going to those because you never quite know what you're gonna find, but if you look well enough, there is a treasure waiting to be found! :)

And now for the reason I wanted to go to this sale... a cute little tent trailer. I'd love to get one of those; we've done the whole tent camping thing and though we had a lot of fun this last June in the Sierras, it rained... and the ground was cold.... and I was just plum ready to be up off the ground!
Check out how funky but functional these things are!!! (This isn't the one that was for sale).

Makin' Music

Last weekend we had three Christmas parties to go to; I love this time of year!!! It even rained on Saturday which just made it feel that much more wintery! We ended up playing music over at our friends house...Mike played banjo, Ruben played acoustic and sang, I got to join in on the singing and was happy as a lark! :) An evening well spent!!
Hope you're finding time to hang out with friends and family :) Got anything fun going on?

My hubby and me! :)

My stripey dress is made by the creative Christine Haynes. You can check out her website here. She has a book for sale that teaches the basics of sewing... I found her at the Felt Club craft show last year :) I love to layer up this dress!

Snowflakes

We don't see a whole lot of snow here in sunny California, but it's only a short trip away to Big Bear. I went snowboarding with a friend of mine a few years ago and there was a complete blizzard!!!! Men had icicles on their beards (brrrr!!!). We watched these tiny and intricate little snowflakes drop from the sky and delicately land on our black gloves. Each one was different and so perfect! I'd never really seen a snowflake!!! Just the ones we cut out from paper in school :) I was in awe! Here are some pretty cool pictures of snowflakes...

If you're interested, you can learn the science behind these little ice crystals here. (Photos came from that site)

Dorking Out At Midnight!

So here's what happens when you're in a nursing program and you're up all hours of the night trying to complete an assignment! At some point your brain shuts down and your start "dorking out"- hahhaha This is using photo booth on my mac! Wayyyy too much fun by myself!
Anyone out there ever experience something like this?

This is my "Charles Nelson Riley" shot from a Saturday Night Live skit! ahahah

Happy Wednesday, and here's to having fun no matter what you're doing!!!

4. I'm a twice published photographer, as a youngster, for A Day in the Life of Hollywood, and again in College for a shot I took in Az of aspens in the snow (the picture was gifted to someone so I don't have it). Here's a picture of the cover of A Day in the Life of Hollywood:

5. Nursing is the career I am chasing, wish we still wore those cute hats!!!

Now to nominate 7 other fantastic blogs...

Thanks again, Anne! :) What a sweet award!

Good Rainy Monday to You!!!

Ahhh, the small things in life. Southern California hasn't been "washed" in a while and everything looks gorgeous this morning! The plants and trees are drinking up the rain that's been falling all night! Here's a cheery little number or two about rain :) I do love this weather... I've been listening to the second one in my car for a while (Louis Armstrong!). Good stuff :)

Here's Gene Kelly, "Singing in the Rain"

And one of my FAVORITES!!!! Louis Armstrong and Velma Middleton joking around
singing this song! Sounds like the audience was having fun too! Wish I could have seen it!
(PS... I know the you tube picture says "Ella" and Louis, but it is Velma. Ella sang it with him too!)

Have a wonderful, rainy day!!!

Radio Flyer

Isn't this just the epitome of childhood? We brought home some old wood scraps from a lumber yard and hauled them the backyard using our cute little red (noisy) wagon! I loved the way the wood looked stacked up! :) Hope the week finishes out nicely for you... I can't wait for the weekend!!!

Happy Birthday Woody!!!

Happy Birthday Woody Allen!!! I have a couple of friends who might be a bit obsessed (in a good way- hehe) with him. But after watching some of his films with stunning co-star Diane Keaton, I see where they are coming from! Cheers, Anne!!! Cheers Woody!!!

Here's to good movies :)

Coupla Kooks!

I love this shot! My hubby and I were having dinner at our friends house and picked up their son's bitty instruments and started jammin'. Good times!
