I'm not quite sure how to describe being part of the M1 community!?! Let me try this way, I get on Daisy (my little yellow Honda Passport- 70cc), to cruise around town and am now part of an elite crowd. Big biker dudes will cruise past and lift a hand off the handle bar as if to say "welcome" even though the only commonality we share is that we're both wearing helmets and riding on two wheels! I shriek in my closed helmet and giggle by myself (though no one can see any emotion behind this fish tank of a globe- one that some would dare to call "vintage").
I took Main Street all the way to the DMV that scorching hot September day. Daisy is pretty much giving it her all around 40 MPH. After my clinicals at the hospital, I used my lunch break to go get my motorcycle license, and then race to class for lecture!
As I pulled up to the DMV, I saw the line of people snaking around the building, and was thankful that I had been told to go directly to window six for my test! I sat there anxiously waiting for my name to be called. I might have even picked at my nails a little... nerves! My name was called and the serpentine line stared as I jumped on Daisy, kick started her, and pulled around to get in line (sadly, her starter button isn't working). There was a guy ahead of me, waiting to take his M1 test too. Luckily I watched him wobble around a bit and even put his foot down a couple of times (a sure way to fail your test!!!) He passed in spite of the foot drop, and I knew the queen of the DMV would have mercy as she stood in the shade peering out from behind her clip board! I learned by watching that nice fella, that I could make their short course and tight circle easier in second gear than herky jerky first. I got on, rode the course and passed without ever touching the ground :) What had I been stressing about??? I was giddy all the way home!
PS. I love these boots, but they are soooo slippery on the bottom! Maybe not the best riding boots...
Here she is, Daisy, my little motorbike!!! If you see us around town, slow down and wave!
Happy trails!
