Mi Corazon Esta En Fuego

I've had this pattern from Jenny Hart ( Sublime Stitching) for a while and finally got inspired to actually use it. I put it on a black piece of cloth so I used white carbon paper to trace the pattern. I'm super excited about this project. Do you remember the line from Anchor Man? Veronica Corningstone and Ron Burgundy are getting a little steamy and she uses the line on my banner. I thought the huh, hum.... love seen was well done. A cartoon is better than a graphic scene, in my opinion!

Here's the beginning

Picking colors is usually really hard, but this one is coming easy so far... fingers crossed still.

The back side isn't looking too shabby. Have you ever looked on the back of an old tea towel?I've seen some that look nearly as good as the front!!!

My three year old took this shot... she's getting pretty good. She even runs over and shows you the picture right after she takes it :)

Happy Monday!!! And Happy Crafting :)

Bored on a Plane

This is all the fun stuff I brought on a plane ride to Hawaii. You're allowed to bring a needle and nail clippers that don't have that pokey part on it (used to get the shmutz out from under your nails- eww). This piece of fabric was calling my name in a cute little quilting shop, but I have no idea what I'm going to do with it- journal cover???
I stared this pattern after looking at my grandmother's old aprons. They seemed to love the gingham fabric and dainty designs :)
Free style stitching... hehe it was supposed to be a fish and turned into a whale?!

Organizing Floss

Ahhhhhhh. It's more inspiring to see them wound, than in a ball, or on the ground!

Mimi's Garden

So to be honest with you... I'm not much of a seamstress!!! I always think I'll enjoy new sewing projects, but I really don't. I do enjoy the finished product though! I made this gardening apron for my Grandma, Mimi. It was sort of a free for all, just putting things together and sewing them up- but she loved it! :) And I was a little proud of my work- hehe

Anthropologie

I tried on this dress recently and the picture doesn't do it much justice- it's really cute "on." I can't wait for fall, and tights, and boots... sweaters... layering :)

Something to look forward to!

Mountain biking season is here and holy moly, was it fun last year. My hubby's been going up there for years but I finally joined him on the last trip. There is nothing like standing on the bike pedals, winding your way through super huge pine trees, on a soft and rolling path. That would be "downtown trail" There is a little bit of climbing and mostly down hill. But... if you're like me, you ride that a couple of times, get comfortable and want another challenge. Here's a video on you tube I found riding one of the trails that branches off from the easy one. What a blast, I can't wait!!!
