Felt Club Craft Show

That was a change from the craft fairs I've gone to with my mom (like the Harvest Festival- Long Beach). Much more Indie, lotsa felt critters and silk screen tee's with owls and deer. All of which I like very much. DJ Lance rock was there (Yo Gabba Gabba- and taking a picture with him made me the coolest Mom ever to my toddler!) The highlight for me was meeting my stitching hero, Jenny Hart!!!!!! from Sublime Stitching. She is extremely sweet, started her own cool business, and knows so many cool stitching secrets!!! (like what to do when you stitched for too long and your thread is too short to tie a knot...)

I was one of the first, excited and antsy people to get in to the Felt Club show and earned a "swag bag" for being somewhere within the 250 entrants. Yippee!!! Pure bliss 'cause who doesn't like something for free???? :)

More pictures to come!!!

Christmas is in the Air...

Ahhh. Our Christmas tree just found a home on 11th st. and it smells magical. We picked it up from Home Depot last night and oddly enough it was the first one we pulled out! I want to decorate it with a vintage flair, so bought some old ornaments that look like painted aluminum (various balls, stars...) in all different colors. This is very against my ideals on tree decorating. I'm very theme oriented when it comes to decor (certain colors or styles). Last year for instance was a Sweedish theme with straw and wood ornaments with red for the accent color. This is all a strange idea to my Mama, who always has a plethora of many different ornaments. My favorite were always the silver metal icicles that twirled when you touched them. My sweet Mama bought me some and they will surely be on the tree this year!!!

Anyone have fun ideas for a vintage tree? I was thinking of cutting out old cards and gluing cute vintage paper to the back, and stringing them all together to make garland. Seeing how it is Dec. 5th already, that may be too lofty a plan!? Still, I think I'll try! Happy Birthday Mike!!!!!! (My brother's bday today) :)

Any ideas are welcome!!!!!! Do you have a theme for your tree?
